Hooray, finally Sandboxie is 64-bit compatible!

Since I have Windows 7 64-bit installed on my system, I unfortunately had to give in Sandboxie. It simply was not 64-bit compatible. Unfortunately, did not install a 32-bit version, because the tool deep in the kernel accesses the system. Ergo, I had to make do without the program. Too bad, this is super useful. When I still had Windows XP, the program included as standard. It saved the establishment of a virtual machine. But stop, stop! You know not Sandboxie? Alright, here's a little explanation:

Sandboxie creates a small partitioned area on the hard disk, called the sandbox. Sandboxie means it is possible to start programs in this sandbox. These programs have no access to the rest of the system and can do no harm. Alternatively you can also set up a virtual system. But that requires a few gigabytes of space on your hard disk. Sandboxie, however, is only 2 megabytes in size. I think everyone now recognizes the inestimable advantage of Sandboxie. 64-bit users had unfortunately been without the program. As I said, so far ...

For now the author of the program has made 64-bit compatible. Can download the whole story on the program website . Try it once. It is really very useful and will save you many a pest ;)

So you can on the side cnc inside a first screenshots discover where you can inspect from Star Wars-like "vehicles". Further improvements are likely a complex co-op campaign, a class-based game system, lasting experience, and a 5-on-5 Multiplayer mode. Everything else, as well as an interview with the designer, story writer and leader Campain Samel bass you can on cnc-inside view, where are you all other features explained.

Incidentally, the new C & C should contain no DRM protection!

First impressions of Windows 7 RC

As I have already written a few days ago, now the Windows 7 RC for all users on the Internet is available. So I do not shilly-long and I downloaded the 2.5 GB iso file. I mean, was recently praised the new operating system from Microsoft is so high that you must try it if you already have the chance. In addition, the RC will run until mid-2010, all that is over a year. As you lose nothing. I'll see in this short and crisp review whether the hype is justified by the new system, or whether to remain in their old XP users nostalgic system.

Impressions of the CeBit 2009

I apologize for the downtime over the weekend again. Actually, I wanted to post my photos taken on Sunday, but a DNS change, unfortunately, I had their hands tied. Does not matter, I took the time and my computer at 3 years once again refurbished. During that time, in fact pretty much garbage accumulated, which is now gone but :)

Either way, Saturday, I went after I was through Friday 2:30 18'ner on a birthday, still rather stunned at the CeBit. The timing was not ideal, but whatever. I spent the trip to Hanover with sleep :)

Windows 7 RC coming this month!

If you read diligently Winfuture, is a now run under the eyes of this news: Windows 7 Release Candidate coming in late February.

If you want the "safe" sources who believe Winfuture has, so this month will still start the next phase of the new operating system from Microsoft. The first builds its already compiled and delivery will begin soon. Start with the will to so-called "escrow" phase, in which those developers and beta testers, the narrow version through its paces in order to eliminate serious errors that can harm the user. If fatal errors occur during this phase, may shift the release date.

MSDN-/TechNet-Abonnenten get the Release Candidate 1 of Windows 7 on 27 February 2009, just as the Microsoft Connect users.

Welcome to the Microsoft Store, how can I help you?

Golem reports that Microsoft has in the near term plan to establish their own branches. For this, the Redmond software giant has a former Wal-Mart manager brought on board.

Be offered in the store Microsoft's own products. Course included the in-house operating system, the Xbox game console (as well as accessories and games), but products for mobile phones like Windows Mobile. Moreover, even keyboards and mice out of the house.

In Germany, Microsoft stores are not planned.

But I wonder whether Microsoft has done with such shops the big coup. Do they want to emulate Apple? Nothing against Microsoft, but Apple store irritates me more than a Microsoft Store. If only because Apple has style. What would tempt one to go into a Microsoft store? The products are getting cheaper on the internet anyway.

Windows 7 is no Ultimate Extras

While Microsoft tried with Windows Vista with some extras to move customers to buy Windows Vista, Windows 7 will be developed with no extras for the most expensive edition of the operating system.

In the future, Microsoft plans to bring a new Windows every 3 years on the market, so the development of Ultimate Extras was not possible. Specifically, the company said:

Our new approach to planning and development of Windows does not provide capacity for the provision of features outside the regular release cycles.

In addition, the development team is now split. So looks the one (core) development team as early as the next Windows version, while the other updates and patches for the current development.

Ultimately, however, twist it and turn it however you want: The Ultimate Edition of Windows Vista was a disappointment for many people. A lot of people bought the latter version, to be held by small gimmicks in a good mood. Finally you can count on the current Ultimate Extras 2 hands.
