Why Android dominate the handheld market is

At first I just thought: Yes, well, basically this is just an OS for mobile phones. Only just now on Google. I did not think that this operating system is sometimes as important. But since I've probably been deceived. Right now, I guess Google Android as very important.

androids

Android has a lot of advantages for manufacturers of mobile devices. Let us begin with that Android is an open source operating system. You may use it and use it as a basis for further developments. This makes development cheaper by far. In addition, Google Android can be kept up to date. The manufacturer is no more then so much the hat. Again, costs are saved.

The above considerations lead to the step that Android is increasingly "built" in mobile devices. This leads to Adam Riese (and Eva Klein ;) ) To a higher prevalence of the Google OS. A higher spread but also makes the operating system for app developers more attractive. At the moment there is according to Wikipedia, about 30,000 apps in the Android Market. Natural tendency to rise. More apps, of course, increase the interest of customers for a terminal with Android. Finally, there is something worth if you have an ample selection of apps to expand the unit after your purchase.
We are practically in a cycle: higher proliferation -> more apps -> more customers -> higher spread.

And the spread has already become high, even though the system has only been recently. But it's not just mobile phones. On other mobile devices like the Archos Internet Tablet or the day before yesterday on Scatterd präsentiertem WePad comes to Android applications. This makes it the universal operating system for mobile devices.

So we can say in summary that Google Android is a great coup succeeded. On the one hand, Google has a prestigious status of the matter, because they have developed Android. On the other hand, the market is driven so enormous, and not least mobile device manufacturers have a huge cost advantage of it.

Windows Mobile 7 allegedly without copy & paste and multitasking [+ video from mobile phone-OS]

Today it is known that Windows Mobile 7, the new operating system for mobile phones from Microsoft without copy & paste function as well without multitasking comes along. In the latter case, the apps when switching to the home screen can be easily "killed" and removed from memory. It certainly brings some performance advantages, but also has many drawbacks. If one only once before, for example, you can navigate through the phone from the city and suddenly you are surprised by a phone call. The navigation can be ever forgotten. Would not it be much better if one accepts the call by voice command, and connected the phone via Bluetooth to the car? According to Microsoft probably does not.

In addition, you have to do probably also copy and paste in Windows Phone 7. This is also not very smart of Microsoft, has been rumored for months but Apple, the iPhone finally let them install a copy function. This has the iPhone now. WP7 not. Why not learn from the mistakes of others? Why is this a bug that the competitor has been rumored ever been copied? I can not explain it to me. Or Microsoft pursues the strategy of "From Apple you learn best?"

In both notices me is unfortunately only a courageous pity on her lips. I was still firmly convinced that my next phone a mobile phone with Windows Mobile is 7. Now I'm on to doubt whether this would be the right choice. Just hope for once that Microsoft nachbessert quickly. Have a little time to develop them still.

Cool: Pandora - An open-source handheld console

Have you heard this? Like a press release announced, can the project OpenPandora the open source Pandora handheld is almost completed and the unit will soon be ready for sale. The unit is equipped with a 4.3 inch touchscreen has a 600 Mhz ARM processor and has Wi-Fi on board. The battery life is approximately 10 hours, and a 43-key keyboard, also. The device is a bit bigger than a Nintendo DS fits, but still in a trouser pocket. But all these facts are not even that interesting, even though that sounds. After all, the device has a processor twice as fast as a PSP, is about as fast as the new iPhone 3G . Actually a little bit faster. But here's the best.

If Windows 8 already in 2012?

Hardly Windows 7 is in the shops, there are already odors RIGHTS scattered, appear that the successor to the highly successful 7 already in the next 2-3 years. That's at least a road map out the next one "major release" shows in 2012. Whether all this is true can be doubted. What is certain is that Microsoft has now taken a different path and now at the rate of about 3 years, a new version of the company's own operating system to throw on the market.

The famous question with rumors of course, is always: And, right I think it could very well be that Windows 8 is thrown in three years on the market?. The change of course and suggest roadmap. However, it is of course the question was, who it takes to Windows 7 once again a change. I will not do it anyway. Besides, the prices for upgrade versions would fall into the basement. But what certainly is not the case.

Maybe the whole thing done so well by himself and Roland Emmerich was right.

Chrome OS is ready! And what that can do everything?

Google Chrome

It is, in my opinion, a very exciting project. If not the most exciting. I'm talking about Chrome OS, the operating system from the search engine giant Google . Now, the big G, the OS is first presented . At first glance, it looks no different than a simple browser. However, hiding behind it more?

Google suggests a Chrome OS a whole new way than the conventional ones. The OS is built entirely on the online world and its applications. Then your data is not stored on your computer and the local hard drive, but online. Also, applications can not be downloaded and run offline, so to speak, but must all be available online. Google Chrome does the job by managing the various applications and user data (login information, etc.) providing the services.

The operating system is built on a Linux kernel. So far, therefore, in principle, nothing other than a Ubuntu or SuSE. You might think. From the outside, but you can see no resemblance to the popular Linux distributions. Runs is the OS on x86 CPU's (would be interesting to know whether the CPU work with 64-bit extension). Particularly impressive is to be the boot time. This should amount to only a few seconds. Is, in principle, but nothing special, after all, the system starts (as described above) is a browser.

The security of the OS should not be ignored. Thus, the system runs in a sandbox and applications can not access the kernel. That's a good thing, because then the operating system will not actually tampered with. If still something "happens": When booting the system durchgeleuchtet shortly. If inconsistencies occur, Chrome OS tries to eliminate them. So "heals" itself Chrome in that it replaces the malicious code by healthy code. This brings the system from the network (who would have thought differently?).

So overall a very exciting thing. For small devices and netbooks, I can imagine the system very well. How is all this but overall developed, one can not say. Some say that Chrome OS will be the end for Apple and Microsoft, others say the opposite. And it looks like no one knows. Here's a short video about Chrome OS.

Windows 7

Today is the day: we write 22 October of 2009. Windows 7 is finally released in stores and is available immediately for purchase for consumers. I had, like many other users probably, before installing the RC, and could not expect it, finally, the final hold in their hands, because: Even the RC was so advanced that with the operating system in nearly 5 months in which I it was installed, not once is greased. I was also one of the lucky ones who had the opportunity to acquire a Windows 7 on sale coupon. That said, I was able to purchase Windows 7 for 50 €. Who can remember: The coupons were limited to 1,000,000 units worldwide. At Amazon Germany, they were sold out within 7 minutes. Fortunately, I had in my local MediMax luckier. Anyway, here is my first report on Windows 7 Read more

Fancy a free Windows 7? Throw a party!

Yes quite right. Curious though, the proposal also comes from Microsoft. It's true. To celebrate the launch of the new Windows 7 operating system software giant Microsoft plans to user-parties. The host receives in the course of advertising for the new OS, a version of Windows 7 Ultimate for free. However, the party as a launch party will be accepted. Otherwise, it goes away empty-handed.

This system could be known from the Tupperware party's. Unlike the plastic celebrations are sold at the launch party of any Microsoft products. It should only be generated attention to the new operating system. The host receives the contrary, as already mentioned, a Windows 7 version and also has the chance to get a new PC.

First impressions of Windows 7 RC

As I have already written a few days ago, now the Windows 7 RC for all users on the Internet is available. So I do not shilly-long and I downloaded the 2.5 GB iso file. I mean, was recently praised the new operating system from Microsoft is so high that you must try it if you already have the chance. In addition, the RC will run until mid-2010, all that is over a year. As you lose nothing. I'll see in this short and crisp review whether the hype is justified by the new system, or whether to remain in their old XP users nostalgic system.

Tuz the new mascot of Linux

At least for 3 months. Because Tux , the mascot for the actual free Linux operating system, is currently on vacation.

Tuz is a vicious prey, or even gennant Tasmanian Devil. One or two little creatures like this also from the Warner Brothers characters ( Taz ) be known. Anyway, this animal, which as the name suggests is home in Tasmania, is in danger of extinction. The reason for this is a cancer on the face, which affects many Tasmanian devils.

Tuz is replaced briefly in the Linux version 2.6.29, the 'original' Tux. The Linux developers want to draw attention to the rescue of the Tasmanian devil and donations call. This is Tux not forget, we have placed a yellow nose Tuz.

Ultimately, that's sometimes a nice and meaningful action. I think it's great that Linux developers care about an endangered species. Hats off!
