Consistent with the last article in that I have presented a pretty cool commercial, I thought I'd ask you before the Motorola DroidX times closer - though it is not yet on the market in Germany. For a few days, the Droid from U.S. network operator Verizon Wireless is sold. Even with the contract costs that thing still $ 200 per month, $ 30 for the data plan due. This is without doubt a lot of money. But, perhaps the professional coal is even justified?

The Droid comes with a 1-GHz processor. It has become standard in smartphones. Even the Nexus One then had a 1-gigahertz processor heavy. Admittedly, this was for the "then" faster chip time. Whatever.

When the display is a capacitive touch screen is used, which offers a resolution of 854 × 480 pixels. That's neat and nimble enough in principle to Webspielereien. HD is not. But this was different. The camera that is powerful 8 megapixels offers and can make video recordings in 720p. It's gratifying to hear it. Thus, the Droid is the iPhone 4 in the region on the same video recordings ever.

512 MB of RAM are used for the phone to use as well as a flash memory of 8 GB. If this is too little, which can increase the memory at anytime with a microSDHC card up to 32GB. We should all be happy now. In addition, of course, a wireless module and GPS on board. It now belongs to each phone, all into a smartphone. What is yet to be mentioned in the series, is the HDMI output and DLNA features. Who does not know what it is: This is media content can be streamed from a home server to the mobile phone. A very nice feature if you use it consistently.

What's not forget though, and what is emphasized in the commercial, is the hotspot function. The Droid X can be transformed into a kind of wireless router and model. This allows netbooks and similar devices with WLAN link with the Droid and can go on the internet, which is supplied by the Droid. Up to 5 users can manage the device. However, does the activation of the hotspot feature, at least for Verizon, a surcharge of $ 20 (per month?).

Finally, there: When will Android OS 2.1 to use, but which can be upgraded to 2.2. Particularly noteworthy is the ability that Flash content is displayed when the power is on the way (works on Android 2.1).

What's left to say? Actually nothing, right? Endgadget gives the Droid a rating of 7/10 That should get there pretty much, although I would have given an 8/10. Clearly, the facts can be read from the Droid beautiful. But now is what gives the droid X to find in any other phone in this price range. In addition, the boys complain of endgadget that the launch pad from Motorola is still not as good as the sense of surface HTC . So be it.
Overall, however, the buyer gets a turn-around nice smartphone.
