AMD and nVidia card in a PC - MSI Lucid Hydra Engine is that possible!
Hands you the power of your ATI graphics card does not want to not spend so much money for a new and dear to AMD access card? This will soon be a problem with the MSI Lucid Hydra engine more. This platform allows the use of an AMD graphics card and an nVidia graphics card in a PC!
Well, so completely does the supposedly not. Only the combination with an nVidia G90 or G200 chipset and an AMD Radeon 4000 series is currently possible. And even this connection works only for 5 games: Batman Arkham Asylum, Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty - World at War, FEAR 2 and Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising. Also 3DMark benchmarks are possible. The combination of graphics cards from different manufacturers is called X-Mode.
Unlike the X-mode, there is the A-and N-mode. Underlying this is the combination of AMD cards (A-mode) or nVidia cards (N mode). The advantage over the already developed Crossfire or SLI interface is that you can connect using the Hydra engine and graphics cards from different families. This capability may prove useful if you do not always resort to the most expensive model, or even no graphics card supports Crossfire or SLI.
Currently, the Hydra Engine is still in development. Prices and market introduction are thus not yet clear. What do you think? I need such an interface or is it just gimmick?

Um AMD? did I miss anything or make the ATI and Nvidia compete now? And now why AMD steals the "Readeon"? After placing a "Intel 470 gtx" comes on the market, we have 4 graphics card manufacturer, or what? So this article is rather questionable in my opinion.

It was here just confused with AMD ATI xDDD
ATI has been bought by AMD. That is why I am speaking of AMD graphics cards
