Firefox 3.6 (beta) and ready for download

Today is the beta of the new Firefox 6.3 was completed and ready for download have been made. The new version of the Mozilla forge comes up with an updated Gecko engine on, an improved translation of HTML code and supports, at least to some extent Windows 7 features. So it is now possible to preview images of the tabs on display in the Superbar. Whether the Jump Lists are now supported, I do not know. Who wants to test the 3.6er version itself, which can be the beta of the Mozilla servers overloaded.

Hansenet (Alice) boycotted the retention

The communications company Hansenet, many known as well as Alice, will still not save the storage of connection data of the clients. This is due to the impending sale to Telefonica, because just about no money Hansenet (after all, the cost monitoring equipment 400,000 euros) to spend more on such activities.

Who does not know the retention and its still not aware: This is one of Schäuble introduced monitoring unit. It will be stored by the provider, the connection data of the clients for 6 months. The Government may (without concrete suspicion of a crime) to access this data to illuminate the 82 million Germans of this republic. We are therefore under constant suspicion.

I'm glad, meanwhile, that there are a provider who is not on such things. Even if it is not Hansenet probably get through. Lastly, it is indeed in the law that the government can spy on us.

PageRank is not dead! It's a PR update!

A few weeks ago we read reports that the PageRank, Google's tool for assessing the relevance of a site would be dead . Which does not seem to be so. I have just noticed that is that my blog has reached its old level of PR 3 again. Scatterd had, due to the change of the domain, a short time no more PageRank. Which is now no longer so and the new top-level domain starts with a wonderful rankings. :)

That the PageRank is not really buried, was also confirmed on the Google Watch blog . Condemned live longer though.

Who actually buys a mouse for 800 €?

Do you know that already? The ID of intelligent design :

ID

This mouse will cost 800 euros proud. The reason for this is that the back is made of the mouse from high-grade titanium. Inside the mouse is still plastic. The mouse wheel (to use as third mouse button) consists of the metal neodymium. Whatever that is.

But apart from the metal: It is and remains a stink-normal mouse. Only in a somewhat nobler packaging. But whether it is worth more than a hundred times to pay for a rodent? In my opinion, because apart from the high price has a mouse-in my view, bad ergonomics. I would imagine that the metal edges after 1-2 hours of use to cut into the skin, such as overloaded bags, bags of girlfriend. Whatever. I would have it, the 800 € at least not worth it. But I'm probably not the target audience.

The eBook reader and its future

Sony e-book Reader

I'm going to buy this year, no e-book reader. There is simply too early and I think the technology is not refined enough. But what can be observed: Lately, the little electronic book replacements often in the headlines and new technologies are developed. For example, now in Japan.

Bridgestone, the self-confessed F1 fan is familiar with the company as a tire supplier to the racing cars, has now developed ePaper that can display 4096 colors, flexible and very fast paging (0.8 seconds) allows. So it will probably soon be possible to complete the reader is flexible. I think this is important because I want to treat the reader like a magazine and pack among other things (just like a magazine). This is only readers with the current very difficult because they are static. In addition, the reader Bridgestone will be about the size of an A4 sheet.

What you should really think about ebooks? In my opinion, it will inevitably run point is that print media disappear from the landscape. In the books (and magazines / newspapers) will be as similar as with the music: The media are distributed gradually over the Internet. A copyright discussion on how the record industry will give us for that matter. This meant that in future it will need no more publishers. The main task of publishers had to print the books. But this is no longer necessary with eBook readers. Just as it is with the record labels: The use of MP3 players and the Internet, it is no longer necessary, the music CD pressed on the shelf to have added ('I find but nice to have the disc on the shelf ). However, this revolution will come.

If this "crisis" is then overcome, the readers are part of everyday life. The United States, they put a yes even in school. What I do not necessarily may mean for good. As I said, those things are not yet mature enough. That will change though.

What Steve Ballmer has taken?

What the hell Ballmer pulls off here for a show? Seems to still be a very casual type?

Killer game debate is supposedly off the table

Quite obviously, the wretched-long debate about the killer game is finally over. In any case, if you look at the coalition agreement. There you can find any record that is in the mention of a prohibition of "dangerous" first-person shooter.

Especially the politicians of the CDU and CSU have been used prior to the election of a clearly-proliferation, and even ban the production of such games. This would have serious consequences, however, in my opinion. In particular, because it now makes more money than playing computer games with motion pictures. Fortunately, that has FDP with their demand to strengthen the social work, ultimately prevailed.

Sun is ultimately the coalition agreement that computer games "has become a natural part of our everyday culture." In addition, the German Computer Game Award will be upgraded.

Angela Merkel pwnt by Rob Savelberg

I flew straight to a nice video about Twitter:

[Youtube] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaWE8K2nRVs [/ youtube]

I call that a journalist! Then came the Mrs. Merkel was quite a sweat and our new Outmister Wester Wave, the smile hardly resist. Just a pity that no German journalist asking such questions. Lazy, cowardly pack.

Why are so many games are not for the PC?

If the PC as a gaming platform has had its day? No way, I say! But if so many news see Staring, one might get the idea that the developers of the computer more and more ignore or do not want to support. This is also the impression that if you look at the statement of Brutal Legend designer Tim Schafer sounds:

Well, there is an action game, will see how one is meant for consoles. We focus especially on the versions for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 .

Oh, that's how it is action games have not done so for the PC. I'm not even come on it. Finally, yes staring them on any computer, a thick sticker: "I'm too boring for Action." So sorry, but this opinion can not understand me. Why should we not be made for a PC action games? Mouse there, as keyboard, perfect! In addition, a PC in terms of games (and there in the power sector) will always be superior to the consoles. Can not do it now, when new-generation consoles will be launched, but after a few months to keep up the PC again.

But I will not bite 'now. Probably it is for Brutal Legend be exactly like GTA: The PC version has just come later, as the console manufacturers forked out more money. If so, then it shall be my law. Otherwise not.

Calculate taxi fares before the ride

Saturday is going out of time. Only stupid if no one can go after. What must therefore come from? Well, take a taxi. So Harry Klein ordered one to drive himself and his three other buddies after a night of disco-made home. In the end, then the surprise: 17,50 €! The last drink would probably not be any more. Harry has only € 14.20 here.

takeataxi

But that Harry will not happen soon, because now there are the side takeataxi.de ! Enter city just before the evening, starting and finishing point and immediately spits out the routine of the expected price. Now Harry must only think it, do not spend the amount. Is not that convenient?

At the moment there is not any city in the search. But with a little patience (and notoriety), the page probably get bigger and then home to more cities. In addition, you should not rely on exactly the spit price. A two-buffer € you should always insert. Otherwise the site is very nice, I think.
